Please be careful to protect your personal devices

Recent fraudulent tactics continue to evolve, with attacks specifically targeting security vulnerabilities in personal devices. To ensure the safety of your funds and personal information, please safeguard and properly secure your computer or mobile devices, and avoid sharing them with others. Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Asia) Limited (the “Bank”)  also recommend that customers adopt the following security measures to help enhance your vigilance and prevent losses. Should you discover that any device used to access e-banking services has been compromised, lost, or stolen, please notify the bank immediately.


  1. Strengthen Device Security Protection
    • The latest ICBC (Asia) mobile banking app should be downloaded or updated only through the Bank’s website at www.icbcasia.com (Internet Banking > Personal Mobile Banking) or via the Apple App Store/Google Play/Huawei App Store. Do not download and install the app from unofficial sources;
    • Do not allow third parties to register fingerprints or facial recognition that are not your own on your frequently used mobile devices;
    • Prevent others from using your mobile device and application without permission, please ensure the lock function of your mobile device is working when the biometric authentication is activated to login mobile banking.
  2. Exercise Caution Regarding Networks and Connections
    • Do not use public Wi-Fi networks or public computer to logon to your Internet Banking or Mobile Banking Services. Using telecommunication network and personal devices are more secure;
    • Do not logon to your ICBC (Asia) Online or Mobile Banking through hyperlinks embedded in any suspicious emails, electronic communications (e.g. SMS messages, Whatsapp, Wechat, Facebook Messenger), social media, third party websites (e.g. Carousell) or QR Code. You should always access to our Online Banking Service by typing our Bank’s website address www.icbcasia.com directly into your browser;
    • Do not click on links from suspicious SMS, emails, webpages, third party platform or social media pages/posts.
  3. Protect Personal Information
    • Do not disclose one time passwords (OTP) sent to your mobile or security device to others;
    • Keep your personal information and second authentication information/tools (password token)/Mobile Token in a proper way in order to avoid any misappropriation.
  4. Beware of Malware
    • Evaluate the requested permissions carefully before installation of the Mobile Banking app; Remember to install and update the latest security software to protect your mobile phone from hackers’ attack. Remember to regularly update your mobile operating system and maintain proper configuration of mobile devices (e.g. disallow installation of Apps from unknown source, etc.);
    • Do not jailbreak or root your mobile devices;
    • Install personal firewall, anti-virus or anti-spyware software on your computer and update regularly to prevent virus infections and malware;
    • Make sure you are using the latest versions of operating system, mobile applications and browser;
    • Log out the Internet Banking or Mobile Banking Services after your have completed your banking activities. Clear the browser cache, if you are using Internet Banking services.

“Beware of scams! Do not provide bank, credit card, investment, insurance and MPF account or other key personal information via hyperlinks embedded in suspicious messages purported to be coming from our institution!” If you suspect any unauthorized use of your Internet Banking account or any abnormal transactions in the account, you should contact us immediately.
