In response to the escalating threats of cyber fraud and account takeover risks, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Asia) Limited ("the Bank") proactively implements the internet banking security initiatives introduced by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority.

E-Banking Security ABC

A - App Authentication (Authenticate In-App)

    • When conducting high-risk transactions via internet banking or mobile banking, customers can use their bound mobile banking app for in-app authentication. This cuts off scammers at the source by preventing them from hijacking accounts through intercepted SMS messages.

B - Bye Bye High-Risk Functions (Bye to Unused Functions)

    • Customers can choose to independently disable the "Third-Party Account Registration Services" and "Increase Transfer Limit Services" under the "Transaction Security Lock" feature in their internet banking or mobile banking. To reactivate them, customers must use the mobile banking app to:
      1. Use Soft Token and Facial Recognition; or
      2. Use a Password Token; or
      3. Visit a branch in person to reactivate the security locks.

C - Cancel Suspicious Transfers (Cancel Suspicious Payments)

  • When customers make transfers using FPS, once the "Suspicious Account Alert" is triggered, the system will display a warning message. If customers find the transaction recipient suspicious, they should immediately terminate the transaction to avoid financial loss.

Protect your Personal Digital Keys; Beware of Fraudulent Links!

“Beware of scams! Do not provide bank, credit card, investment, insurance and MPF account or other key personal information via hyperlinks embedded in suspicious messages purported to be coming from the Bank!” If you become aware of any suspicious transaction or receive a suspicious transaction notice, or suspect that your authentication factors or devices used to access Internet Banking services have been compromised, lost or stolen, please contact our customer service hotline at (852) 2189 5588 or visit any of our nearby branches at your earliest convenience for reporting.
