Strengthen your fraud prevention awareness for enhanced asset protection

Security Tips

As fraudulent tactics continue to evolve, criminals are compromising account security through deepfake technology, impersonating official platforms, and distributing fraudulent investment links. Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Asia) Limited ("the Bank") consistently prioritizes the security of client funds. We strongly urge you to heed the following essential precautions:

Leverage the “Limit Security Lock” Function

  • Customers can use the “Limit Security Lock” function via mobile banking or personal internet banking based on their individual needs. Once locked, customers must re-enable this function either through mobile banking using “Mobile Token” and facial recognition authentication, or by visiting a branch in person. This feature provides an additional layer of protection for customer’s funds, helping to safeguard against unnecessary financial losses caused by fraud.

Strengthened Authentication to Safeguard Assets

  • Enable the “Mobile Token”: Each “Mobile Token” is uniquely bound to your registered device, effectively mitigating password leakage risks. For certain high-risk transactions conducted via mobile banking, entry pin of the “Mobile Token” is to complete transaction, substantially enhancing transaction security.
  • “Money Safe” Savings Protection: Flexibly utilize the “Money Safe” service by setting a protected amount to segregate and secure your deposits. Fund held in “Money Safe” cannot be transferred out through any unauthorized channels, providing an additional protective barrier for your core savings. And unlocking protected funds requires you to visit the branch in person for identify verification and processing.

Periodic Verification for Early Warning

  • Regularly change your internet banking and mobile banking password and use difficult-to-guess password, avoid using date of birth or telephone number as internet banking and mobile banking password; Do not use the same user name and password for your other Internet bank accounts and for accessing to other online services.
  • Keep up to date with the latest Information and notifications, regularly logged into internet banking’s “Mailbox” and check eMessage sent by the bank; Carefully review notifications sent through email and SMS to verify if the instructions were initiated by you; Check your bank statement and personal information on the bank account regularly and report any unusual transaction to the Bank immediately.

Protect your Personal Digital Keys; Beware of Fraudulent Links!

“Beware of scams! Do not provide bank, credit card, investment, insurance and MPF account or other key personal information via hyperlinks embedded in suspicious messages purported to be coming from our institution!” If you become aware of any suspicious transaction or receive a suspicious transaction notice, or suspect that your authentication factors or devices used to access Internet Banking services have been compromised, lost or stolen, please feel free to contact our customer service hotline (852) 2189 5588 or visit our branch nearby for reporting.
