ICBC Upgrades Payroll Agency Services

In recent years, while providing safe and efficient payroll agency services for employees of enterprises, government bodies and public institutions, ICBC, has continued to upgrade and enrich its services, rejuvenating the traditional payroll services. As at the end of 2015, the number of the Bank’s contracted personal customers for payroll agency services exceeded 100 million, with an accumulative payroll payment amount of nearly RMB 3 trillion in the year.

According to an ICBC official, the Bank has built an integrated financial service system centered on “ICBC Salary Manager” in its payroll agency service platform. The system covers six featured services (i.e. Payroll Card, Salary Express, Salary Premium, Salary Lending, Salary Benefit and Salary Enjoyment) and other exclusive services, which could meet the needs of employees for full-suite services including payment, settlement, wealth management, financing and consumption.

In addition, ICBC has launched diversified added-value services. For example, the Bank has introduced preferential services including Easy Loan, Payroll Card, exclusive wealth management and settlement package in response to employees’ demands for wealth management and financing. As at the end of 2015, the number of contracted “Payroll Card” customers exceeded 23 million. Meanwhile, more than RMB 20 billion exclusive wealth management products were issued in the past two years. To meet the needs for adding value to wage income, ICBC has also launched the services like “Salary Premium” in which it waives costs such as annual fee for payroll bank cards, ICBC messenger service fee and so on. Also, employees with daily average demand deposit of over RMB 10,000 may enjoy the interest calculated as per the interest rate on time deposit. So far the number of contracted customers has exceeded 5 million. With respect to employees’ demands for non-financial services such as tourism, healthcare and shopping, ICBC plans to provide preferential value-added services in cooperation with branded tourism websites and agencies, airlines, telecommunication companies, large malls, educational agencies, medical institutions and transport operators to constantly enrich and extend its “ICBC Salary Manager” services.
