ICBC Launches “Internet + Campus” Service
 

On September 15, 2015, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China held a press conference on “Helping Young People Realize Dreams and Achieve Success” in Beijing, and announced official launch of the “Internet + Campus” service program by leveraging its products and the Internet to provide comprehensive services integrating voluntary services, fellowship, social practices and financial education. The program focuses on building a dedicated service platform to meet the demands of college students. According to the action plan of “Helping Young People Realize Dreams and Achieve Success”, ICBC will donate RMB one million to the Chinese Young Volunteers Association each year to support their social voluntary service activities. It will establish a social fellowship platform for college students as an innovation in channels and approach of social fellowship. It will offer 1,000 internship positions to college students for social practice at spare time.

Mr. Jiang Jianqing, Chairman of ICBC said at the press conference that a country is strong and prosperous when its younger generations are strong and hardworking, and the younger generations are the future of China. As the largest commercial in the world, ICBC has been paying close attention to young customers represented by college students. The Bank is willing to work with the Ministry of Education, the CYL Central Committee and other governmental departments and authorities to innovate service means and modes by leveraging its funds, technology and service platform, better perform its social corporate responsibilities and improve the comprehensive financial services at campus to help the college students achieve success.

At the press conference, ICBC officially launched an Internet app “ICBC e-Campus” for college students. It is the only comprehensive Internet financial service platform targeting at college students in China’s banking industry. The app was developed and improved with the participation of nearly 1,000 potential student users. Focusing on financial services such as transfer, wealth management and financing as well as non-financial demands for shopping, telecommunication, health, reading and top-up of campus cards, the platform provides convenient, safe and preferential service solutions to students .For example, college students, whether holding an ICBC card or not, can registered an account online. Students meeting certain requirements can get a maximum credit loan of RMB 6000, which is completed online from approval to issue, realizing seamless connection between lending and consumption. In this way, students can accumulate personal credit scores while enjoying convenient financing services. Charges on inter-city remittances are exempted or largely deducted for college students and the interest rate of loans is much lower than similar apps in the market. Besides, ICBC also offers a number of opportunities for students to take social practices and participate in voluntary activities, helping college students perform civilian responsibility through practices. The app has been firstly launched through 360 Mobile Assistant at Apple Store and Android App Store.
