ICBC Cancels Charges for Domestic Transfer & Remittance via Mobile Banking Platforms
 

ICBC has implemented a free-of-charge policy on domestic transfer & remittance transactions via mobile banking platforms since February 25. Transactions such as intra-bank inter-city transfer and inter-bank transfer via ICBC’s mobile phone terminals will be free of charge, including mobile banking system, ICBC e-Connect and ICBC e-Campus.

According to an ICBC official, such free services will cover all related tokens including debit card, credit card, wealth management gold card as well as wealth account. With mobile banking, for example, a customer can log in the system and enter the page of domestic remittance by clicking “transfer & remittance”, and the transfer transaction will be completed upon the entry of relevant information, which reflects the philosophy of “benefiting customers and inclusive finance”.

ICBC is the largest Internet bank in China, with the number of e-banking customers exceeding 500 million. Focused on Internet business, the Bank’s e-banking business represents more than 90% of total business volume. According to statistics, the number of transfer and remittance transactions completed by customers through ICBC’s mobile banking platforms reached 218 million in 2015, with the transaction amount reaching nearly RMB 5 trillion.
