ICBC Business Matchmaking Develops New Online Service Mode for CIIE

“We released our need on global sourcing at the ICBC Business Matchmaking platform, and have come into initial contact with many Chinese enterprises. It’s a pleasure to join the online matchmaking event during the 3rd CIIE and have the opportunity to further communicate with the enterprises and reach the intent of cooperation.” On the afternoon of November 5, a Russia-based medical institution and a China-based pharmaceutical company finished “cloud contract signing” for a medical project at the Belt and Road Trade Fair (online) held by ICBC through its Business Matchmaking platform.

In the post-pandemic era, the new mode of online cross-border cooperation is successfully promoting the globalized development of enterprises. According to statistics, up to 75% enterprises participating in the event reached intent of cooperation. Since the Pre-Exhibition Matchmaking Meeting of Technical Equipment was held on August 8, ICBC has organized four CIIE-related online matchmaking events, in which the value of “cloud-signed” agreements exceeded RMB500 million, thus setting up a bridge between Chinese firms and foreign enterprises unable to come to China due to the pandemic to share the opportunities of Chinese market .

Since sing-up started this June, ICBC’s “online + offline” CIIE events via the Business Matchmaking platform attracted a total of more than 800 enterprises from 53 countries and regions. For the participants only in online sessions, product display, demand release, meeting appointment, matchmaking and online meetings will all be held on the ICBC Business Matchmaking platform, by which the online exhibitors are able to get connected remotely via simple procedures. In order to meet the increasing demand on online negotiation, the platform was upgraded especially for CIIE, launching intelligent recommendation of negotiation partners, optimizing the algorithm for assigning negotiation tables, improving the schedule for enterprises and refining compatibility of the online negotiation room module to ameliorate their service experience and matchmaking rate.

Also, in order to make contributions to preventing and defusing financial risks, targeted poverty alleviation, pollution control and prevention and control of the COVID-19, ICBC launched special sessions on poverty alleviation and social responsibility, public epidemic prevention and medical care, and energy saving and environmental protection at the fair. A farm product cooperative from Jinyang County, Sichuan Province, reached cooperation with a Malaysia-based company through the platform.

The offline Trade Fair will be held at the West Hall of National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) at 14:00 on November 6. Participants present on site will be able to experience the multi-dimensional functions of the ICBC Business Matchmaking platform and the “one-stop” all-round ICBC services for cross-border business matchmaking. The event will better help enterprises implement their cooperation projects and establish cooperative ties, and help realize a CIIE and cross-border matchmaking “whose curtain never falls”.

The ICBC Business Matchmaking platform, independently developed by ICBC for global enterprises free of charge, is intended to promote cross-border cooperation on merchandise, service, technology, project and capital, enabling such core functions as “Marketplace” and “Events”. Over the past two months since its launch, it has attracted nearly 20,000 enterprises to settle in, covering over 40 countries and regions and more than 30 industries, including food and agricultural products, energy and chemical industry, and technology and equipment. The platform is dedicated to serving the new development pattern and making contributions to the building of an open world economy by following the general trend of economic openness and cooperation and the concept of inclusive finance.
