ICBC-AXA, an insurance subsidary of ICBC, announced in Shanghai that as exclusive insurance partner, it will provide personal accident insurance to over 13,000 runners and staff of the Shanghai International Half Marathon.
The half marathon is an important part of the Shanghai International Marathon series, and this year it will be held for the second time. The event will start on April 17, with the number of runners expected to rise from 5,000 last year to 12,000. The course starts from the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, passing the Expo Avenue, Yaolong Road, Qiantan Binjiang Avenue, and other roads boasting Pudong’s classic architectural landscapes, and ends at Shanghai Oriental Sports Center. Along this course runners may enjoy the modern scenes of Shanghai as a financial center and the excellent riverside view, as if moving from a metropolis to a haven of peace.
An official with ICBC-AXA says that the spirits of marathon, including self-challenge, persistence and tenacity, are highly consistent with the corporate culture of ICBC-AXA. ICBC-AXA has set up a special team of insurance, settlement of claims and medical services for the event, with commitment to provide runners with professional and considerate services during the match. In addition, ICBC-AXA will form the “Cube of Love” team consisting of its employees and customers to join the running, in an effort to advocate healthy life style, benefit the customers and the society, and showcase ICBC-AXA’s brand proposition of “Always Be with You”.
