Spanish shares gained on Wednesday, with the benchmark Ibex-35 index up 1.03 percent to close at 10,370.3 points.

Spanish bank Banco Popular soared 5.55 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Steel producer ArcelorMittal rose 3.55 percent. Caixabank gained 3.43 percent.

Abertis led the fall by losing 3.07 percent. Iberdrola dropped 1.26 percent. Cellnex was down 1.07 percent.
