Spanish shares were down on Tuesday, with the benchmark Ibex-35 losing 0.46 percent, or 48.7 points, to close at 10,647.90 points.
Of the 35 selected companies, 25 lost in the day.
Electricity supplier REC was down 3.87 percent followed by natural gas infrastructure company Enagas and Spain's energy company Iberdrola that lost 2.51 percent and 2.47 percent respectively.
Spain's fifth-largest bank, Bankia, gained 3.53 percent, the top gainer of the day. Spain's third largest bank, Caixabank, gained 3.31 percent and steel manufacturing corporation ArcelorMittal was up 3.06 percent.
