Singapore stocks finished lower on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 3.35 points, or 0.1 percent, to close at 3,213.57.

A total of 2.03 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.13 billion Singapore dollars (811.97 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered decliners 225 to 214.

The STI index lost 4.74 points, or 0.15 percent, to close at 3,216.92 on May 19.
