The benchmark DAX index at Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Wednesday dropped by 58.01 points or 0.48 percent, closing at 11904.12 points.
Marketplace organizer Deutsche Boerse lost the most among the blue chips, whose share decreased by 2.90 percent, followed by chemical firm Linde and banking services company Deutsche Bank by losing 1.86 percent and 1.72 percent respectively.
Automotive manufacturer Volkswagen, German multinational software corporation SAP and Chemical group BASF were the three top winners, whose shares gained by 1.45 percent, 0.27 percent and 0.14 percent respectively.
Automotive manufacturer Daimler was the most traded share with a turnover of 413.32 million euros (about 446.67 million U.S. dollars).
