Chinese stocks closed mixed on Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.11 percent, at 3,206.99 points.

The smaller Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.46 percent higher at 10,958.10 points. The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, gained 0.81 percent to close at 2,179.30 points.
