Chinese stocks closed mixed on Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.02 percent, at 3,241.74 points.

The smaller Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.06 percent lower at 10,967.46 points. The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.88 percent to close at 2,146.63 points.
