Australian Share Market Opens Marginally Higher--Oct 28
 

The Australian share market has opened marginally higher.

At the open on Friday, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was up 9.8 points, or 0.18 percent, at 5,305.3, while the broader All Ordinaries index was up 10.7 points, or 0.2 percent, at 5,389.1.

In early trade, ANZ was down 0.75 percent, the Commonwealth Bank of Australia declined 1.62 percent, the National Australia Bank lost 0.47 percent and Westpac fell 0.65 percent.

BHP Billiton rose 1.64 percent, rival Rio Tinto tumbled 0.13 percent while gold miner Newcrest was 2.60 percent lower.

Oil Search sank 2.36 percent, Santos dropped 1.95 percent while Woodside Petroleum shed 1.52 percent.

Wesfarmers was 2.73 percent while rival Woolworths retreated 1.27 percent.

Qantas was 0.33 percent weaker while telecommunication giant Telstra's tumbled 0.40 percent at Friday's early trade.
