The U.S. dollar remained rangebound in the upper 105 yen zone in Tokyo on Wednesday, with market players refraining from making bold moves amid a lack of fresh trading cues.
The U.S. dollar was quoted at 105.73-75 yen at 5:00 p.m. local time, compared with 105.70-80 yen in New York and 105.73-75 yen at 5:00 p.m. local time on Tuesday in Tokyo.
During the day, it tracked between 105.65 yen and 105.89 yen, trading most often at the 105.79 yen mark.
The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.1092-1094 U.S. dollars and 117.28-32 yen against 1.1084-1094 U.S. dollars and 117.22-32 yen in New York, and 1.1109-1110 U.S. dollars and 117.46-50 yen in late Tuesday afternoon trade in Tokyo.
