ICBC (Asia) “Plantation Enrichment Project” Tree Care Day
Entering the third year of “Plantation Enrichment Project” jointly conducted by ICBC (Asia), the Hong Kong Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) and The Green Earth, the volunteer team revisited Clear Water Bay Country Park for the maintenance of the planted trees in 2019. It demonstrates the Bank’s commitment to fulfill increasing the ecological value and biodiversity of exotic plantations, and promoting sustainability of Hong Kong.

ICBC (Asia) Participated in “HKFYG Organic Farming Workshop” by HKAB
The ICBC (Asia) volunteer team participated in the “HKFYG Organic Farming Workshop” CSR Programme jointly organized by the Hong Kong Association of Banks (HKAB) and the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG). Helping young people to learn Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) concepts, the workshop aims to promote the sustainable development of the community and advocate low-carbon green life.

The Bank made its first donation to Caritas charity TV fundraising gala under the name of ICBC (Asia) Charitable Foundation and became a Diamond Sponsor. It also assisted in filming a fundraising video to spread the spirit of “helping others, helping yourself”.

ICBC (Asia) volunteer team participated in the “Financial Education Workshop” Community Education Programme 2020-2021 which was jointly organized by the Hong Kong Association of Banks (HKAB) and the Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS). It aims to popularize wealth management education by providing the underprivileged households basic financial management knowledge on money saving and private financing , in order to promote financial inclusion.

ICBC (Asia) Hands out Blessing Bags ahead of Dragon Boat Festival
To add festive vibes of the Dragon Boat Festival, ICBC (Asia) organized the mainland volunteers from ICBC’s organizations in Hong Kong to distribute 100 sets of rice dumplings and gift bags to low-income people, subdivided unit households and underprivileged families in Christian Family Service Centre, Kwun Tong. All gift bags are filled with festive blessings and anti-epidemic materials to provide support to the disadvantaged families in the spirit of mutual love and support.

WWF “Earth Hour 2021”
For the thirteenth consecutive year, ICBC (Asia) has fully supported and participated in the “Earth Hour 2021”, a worldwide light-off campaign initiated and organized by World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), by turning off non-essential lights in the its headquarters located at the ICBC Tower in Central, the signboard lights at the top floor and entrance area of the building, as well as the spot lights of the Bank’s outdoor advertising billboard at the Western Harbour Tunnel, for an hour on the night of 27 March 2021, practicing low-carbon life with practical actions. It is also a demonstration of the Bank’s determination for carbon reduction and environmental protection.

ICBC (Asia) Sponsored the Finale Performance of the 49th Hong Kong Arts Festival (Online Programme)
Being the exclusive sponsor of the Finale of the Hong Kong Arts Festival for the ninth consecutive year, ICBC (Asia) continued in its steadfast support for the development of arts and culture in Hong Kong, with commitment to giving back to the society. With a new and flexible online format this year, the world renowned Igor Moiseyev Ballet from Russia presented nine distinctive dance performances, taking the audience on a wonderful audio-visual journey.

2020/2021 The Community Chest Virtual Walk for Millions
For the tenth consecutive year, ICBC (Asia) has participated in the “Walk for Millions”, an annual flagship fund-raising event of the Community Chest, in support of the community. The Community Chest launched its first ever virtual walk this year. “ICBC (Asia) Virtual Charity Team” composed of nearly 100 employees achieved 10,000 steps on a low-carbon lifestyle during the event, in any format at anywhere, anytime without boundaries, contributing their efforts to support the community. All funds raised from the Walk programme will be designated to support the social welfare member agencies in enhancing “Family and Child Welfare Services” under The Community Chest.
