Notice of Increasing Security Measures on Securities Trading on Mobile Banking

To increase the security control on securities trading on ICBC(Asia) Mobile Banking, our Bank has launched the below measures from March 31, 2017:

  1. Securities Two-factor Authentication Setting

When customers log onto Mobile Banking to perform securities trading, there is a choice in selecting whether they would like to use password token as a form of security measure. If you have registered to use password token to enter securities trading services, every time you log onto Mobile Banking/ Personal Internet Banking to use “Buy/Sell Stock” and “Amend/Cancel Order” functions, you must input the correct one-time dynamic password that is generated from your password token. If you would like to cancel this service, you can do so via “Securities> Securities Transaction Authentication Setting” on Mobile Banking or “Customer Service> Account Setting> Securities Two-factor Authentication Setting” on Personal Internet Banking and authorize with your password token. If customers have selected to use password token as form of security measure on securities trading on Personal Internet Banking, this setting will be automatically applied on Mobile Banking.

Please note that all current customers will have a default setting of “do not use” securities two-factor authentication. The current procedure of securities trading remains the same.

  2. Securities Trade Status Notification

After the implementation of the new measure, customers must select to receive trade status notifications, either by email or SMS (The email address and mobile number are retrieved by our Bank’s record, which cannot be modified while securities trading.). You can modify your email address and mobile phone number in our Bank’s records at “Electronic Services>Security Center>Personal Information Enquiry/Modification” using two-factor authentication (password token) on Personal Internet Banking, or visit one of our branches.

Please note that after the implementation of the new measure, if customers have not registered their mobile phone number and email address with the Bank, they are not allowed to perform securities transactions via Mobile Banking.
